Here is a card that is very much like one we will make at  October's Stamp Class.   And the cup is embossed and it smells like sugar and spice.  I  Know!

Lovely as a Tree

This weekend I went camping with my family to one of the many beautiful places close to our home town.

Card from convention display board
Here is a picture of our camping spot earlier in the year.
We were right next to a creek and trees of pine needles and leaves.  We laid on a blanket on a moonless night and stared at the milky way as we waited for shooting stars to flash past and we saw leaves as they turned to gold and swirled into the creek and we smelled the pine sap on the warm air.  It was heaven.  I am grateful for such a beautiful place to live--Rexburg, Idaho, United States, the Earth, the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the galaxy--all good places.  And I am grateful to a God who cares about all of those people in all of those places and who made such a beautiful place to be.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Remembrance 9/11

This blog is always about stamping, but today it is about remembering.   A big part of sending cards and making scrapbooks is about sharing our feelings and remembering the places we've been and the important things that have happened to us and those we love---birthday, wedding, anniversary and sympathy cards help us to do that,and scrapbooking all those events keeps a record for not only us, but tells the important history to those who follow.

Here are some photos that tell an important history that no  one should forget, and that should keep us working for a better family, a better neighborhood, a better town, a better country, a better world, a better self.

RSVP for Saturday's Class with "Goulish Googlies ", "Story Time Papers", and "Moving Forward" Stamp Sets.

Saturday is almost here and these are the projects we will make.
The class will be held at the Madison Library Community Room from 10:30 until 12:00.  The first class of the year is free, so you can see if you like it, but orders are very welcome.  Classes from this point on will be Free with a $19 purchase from the catalog.   Please RSVP by emailing me at if you would like to go because I will be cutting out paper and I don't always cut extra's.  If you would like to make these projects, but you can't come, please contact me about my "Stamps in the Mail" program.
Credit given where credit is due:
 I am so lucky to be a part of a company with so many other talented demonstrators.  Two of them helped me to come up with two of the card ideas.  The Hello Dear Friend card is a case from  the very inspiring
 and the story time card idea came from Joan's Daily Stamping video
